Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a waveguide device including a step of producing, by additive manufacturing, a semi-finished metal core having side walls having external and internal surfaces, the internal surfaces defining an internal waveguide opening. The manufacturing process further includes a step of chemically polishing the metal core to reduce the thickness of the side walls by an ablation thickness equal to at least twice a roughness of the metal core before polishing, to obtain the waveguide device. The invention also includes a waveguide device obtained according to the above-mentioned process.

Abstract: A method for producing a waveguide device, including producing a core of a non-conductive material. The core has side walls with outer surfaces and inner surfaces, the inner surfaces defining a waveguide channel. A layer of conductive metal is deposited on the inner surfaces by immersion in a fluid of reactants. The core includes at least one hole between the outer and inner surfaces, specifically used to encourage the removal of bubbles from the channel and/or the circulation of the fluid during the immersion.

Abstract: Radio-frequency component including several waveguide devices, for example antennas or polarizers, arranged in an array for transmitting and/or receiving electromagnetic signals. The radio-frequency component includes several ridges and each waveguide device includes: at least one inner wall; an upstream opening in the direction of propagation of the signals during emission; and a downstream opening in the direction of propagation of the emitting signals, linked to the upstream opening so that the emitting signals are transmitted from the upstream opening to the downstream opening. The arrangement of the ridges in the openings upstream of the radiofrequency component may be different from the arrangement of the ridges in the openings downstream of the radio-frequency component. The arrangement of ridges in the downstream openings of each waveguide device includes no more and no less than three ridges.
