摘要： In an apparatus for and method of producing absorbent pads from a flock-air mixture which is fed through a feed conduit to a shaping recess carrier to form the respective absorbent pad, the carrier rotates or circulates in a predetermined direction of operation. For excess air in the region of the flock-laying device is to be sucked away in a simple fashion without adversely affecting the process of shaping the absorbent pad, the feed conduit feeding the flock-air mixture to the carrier is branched into at least first and second conduits, the first conduit carrying a first partial flow of the mixture and the second conduit carrying a second partial flow thereof. The first and second conduits are directed on to the carrier in such a way that the second partial flow meets the carrier substantially downstream of the first partial flow in the direction of operation of the carrier.

摘要： In an apparatus and a process for preparing a flock-air mixture which is fed by a pulping device through a feed conduit to a flock-laying device for forming an absorbent pad, the feed conduit includes a dispersing device for loosening up lumps of flock within the mixture. To achieve a high level of efficiency in loosening the flock lumps, as independently as possible of the through-put of the mixture through the feed conduit, the dispersing device is in the form of a pneumatic dispersing device which loosens up the lumps by accelerating the mixture with lumps therein to cause the lumps to burst or tear apart.

摘要： A method of operating an automotive vehicle headlight system switchable between a high-beam state and a low-beam state. The system operates in an automatic mode in which switching between the states is directed based upon signals from a sensor for detecting traffic conditions. The sensor may be a light sensor for detecting the headlights of oncoming vehicles. The vehicle driver may switch the system away from the automatically-determined state to an operator-selected state, and when this occurs the system operates in a manual mode in which switching is not based upon the sensor signals. The system returns to the automatic mode when the automatically-determined state matches the manually-selected state. The system may also return to the automatic mode if there are no further manual actuations by the driver during a selected time interval.
