摘要： A content can be recorded for certain in a video recording system including a video recording apparatus and a video recording and transmitting apparatus. The video recording apparatus includes: a recording control unit that starts recording the content when a period of time indicated by scheduled recording information starts; and a message transmitting unit that transmits recording-state information to the video recording and transmitting apparatus at regular intervals. The video recording and transmitting apparatus includes: a recording-state monitoring unit that determines whether or not the continued reception of a signal has been suspended during the period of time; and a recording control unit that starts recording the content when the recording-state monitoring unit determines that the continued reception of the signal has been suspended.

摘要： A speech section detection apparatus capable of reliably detecting a speech section even in the case of a speech signal with low signal-to-noise ratio. The speech signal collected by a microphone and amplified by a line amplifier is converted by an A/D converter into a digital value, which is then stored in a memory. After removing noise from the digitized speech signal, the signal-to-noise ratio is improved by taking short-time auto-correlation and, when the signal level has continued to stay above a threshold value for a predetermined period, it is determined that a speech section has been detected. Further, a prescribed period before and after the thus determined speech section is also forcefully set as a target for extraction so that the beginning and end of the speech section can be reliably detected. Furthermore, to prevent noise from accumulating and causing the threshold value to increase excessively, the threshold value is updated as appropriate by multiplying a moving average taken over a prescribed period in a non-speech section by a predetermined factor, and by setting the resulting product as the threshold value.

摘要： Provided is a recording and playing system that prevents, even when a client terminal having no recording function receives emergency information, missing out on a program viewed with the client terminal. The system includes a server terminal and a client terminal connected to each other via a network. From among a plurality of broadcast contents, the server terminal receives a portion of a broadcast content that is broadcast after an instruction to perform recording is received. It transmits the portion to the client terminal as a recorded content. The client terminal detects start and finish of reception of the emergency information, and during the emergency information reception, notifies the user of the emergency information. When detected that the emergency information reception has started, the client terminal instructs the server terminal to perform recording, receives a recorded content from the server terminal through a request to the server terminal, and plays the recorded content in place of a broadcast content.
