摘要： There are provided a contact structure for a card connector (100). The contact structure includes a plurality of contacts (2) which are arranged in parallel with one another. Among the plurality of contacts, there is a detect contact (22) which is the longest contact and disposed at one of the farthest ends of the card connector, a power contact (24) at substantially center portion thereof, a ground contact (25) adjacent to the power contact. Other contacts are the signal contacts (21) for communicating signal. A connect contact, which is integrally formed with the power contact and transversely extends toward to the detect contact, is designed for connecting the detect contact and the power contact. The detect contact, the power contact and the connect contact cooperate to form a detect switch.

The shell (4) covered the insulating housing (1) comprises a resilient piece (411, 421) corresponding to the engaging portion (114, 102) of the insulating housing (1). The resilient piece (411, 421) of the shell (4) engages with the engaging portion (114, 102) of the insulating housing to urge the resilient piece to slightly distort elastically after the shell (4) is assembled to the insulating housing (1).

摘要： An electrical connector (100) provides a housing (1) defining a receiving space (10), a number of contacts (3) received in the housing, and an improved detect means including a first switch contact (4) and a second switch contact (5). The contacts and the switch contacts are embedded in corresponding passageways (111) defined on a mounting wall (11) of the housing. The second switch contact has a body portion (53) and a tail portion (54) curved backwardly from the body portion. The tail portion provides an extension potion (541) extending laterally to be positioned under the first switch contact and be spaced from the first switch contact a distance, and the first switch contact is depressed to engage with the extension portion when an electronic card (7) is inserted into the receiving space of the housing.
