    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described to enable an access point to communicate privacy settings and disclaimer to an electronic device. An AP transmits an indication that the AP supports communication of privacy settings and privacy disclaimer. The AP receives, from an electronic device, a request for information about the privacy settings and privacy disclaimer associated with the AP. The AP transmits, to a network server such as an ANQP server, a query request for information about the privacy settings and privacy disclaimer associated with the AP. The AP receives, from the network server, a query response including information about the privacy settings and privacy disclaimer associated with the AP. The AP transmits, to the device, a response including information about the privacy settings and privacy disclaimer associated with the AP.

    Abstract: Methods, devices and systems for allocating spectrum in a wireless local area network. A bit representation of the availability or unavailability of a plurality of sub-bands of a portion of frequency spectrum is generated and included in a physical layer protocol data unit, which is transmitted to a target station to allocate resource units within the portion of frequency spectrum for use by the target station. The sub-bands may be 20 MHz spectrum sub-bands for large-size resource units, or the portion of frequency spectrum may be a single 20 MHz band sub-divided into multiple sub-bands for allocating small-size resource units. A station that receives the data unit may decode the bit representation and use the allocated resource units to communicate over the wireless local area network.

    Abstract: System and method using distance bounding to provide security in fine timing measurement (FTM) communications including authenticating a prover device at a verifier device, including: transmitting from a verifier device, through the wireless interface, a sequence of challenge bits for a prover device, each challenge bit being transmitted in a respective FTM frame; receiving, at the verifier device, FTM acknowledgment frames; determining, for at least some of the received FTM acknowledgement frames, respective round trip time (RTT) measurements; determining, for at least some of the received FTM acknowledgement frames, whether the included response bit matches a predicted response bit; and authenticating the prover device based on the determined RTT measurements and the determined response bit matches.
