    摘要: A mobile communication device includes a control unit, an output device, a memory, a digital compass, an input device, a microphone, and a speaker. These components are connected with a power source. The control unit calculates direction information with the program stored in the memory, and the direction information is transmitted from the digital compass to the output device. Even without knowledge of compass operation, a user can reference the mobile communication device displaying an accurate direction on the output device.

    摘要: Housing structures for slim batteries are provided. A housing structure comprises a plastic frame surrounding the battery and two metal plates. The battery is covered by the metal plates from opposite sides thereof, respectively. Each of the metal plates comprises a laminar body and a plurality of anchor-shaped protrusions extending therefrom and joining in the plastic frame. Each of the protrusions comprises a flat front edge and two side edges extending from opposite sides thereof to the laminar body, wherein each of the side edges has a smooth recess. The flat front edge of the anchor-shaped protrusion increases effective area of ultrasonic welding. The recess increases contact surface between the frame and the protrusion, improving ultrasonic or high frequency welding and facilitating robust connection thereof.

    摘要: A locking member for use in an optical disk drive includes a base, a tubular projection, and an enlarged portion. The base and the tubular projection are integrally formed with the enlarged portion. A hole formed in the chassis of the optical disk drive is sized to receive the locking member, such that the locking member extends through the hole. The locking member can be fixed on the chassis by riveting, and can absorb a large impact or shock. Alternatively, screw threads can be integrally formed on the hole and the enlarged portion. The locking member can be threaded through and engage with the hole of the chassis to absorb the impact or shock without breakage or failure.
