A method and server for facilitating the transmission of content to a mobile communication device connected to a host computer are provided. The method comprises: sending a content queue request to the mobile communication device from a web application running within a web browser; in response to sending the content queue request, receiving at the host computer a content queue from the mobile communication device, the content queue identifying one or more locations of remote servers associated with content; retrieving content, by the web application, in accordance with the one or more locations identified in the content queue; and sending the content from the host computer to the mobile communication device.
Abstract:
A system, method, and apparatus for integrating active interest information with an address book are provided. Active interest information is indicative of a current or ongoing interest of a first user and may be generated based on use of an application client by the first user. The active interest information is used to update an active interest field in a contact record describing the first user in an address book associated with a second user. The contact record may be updated by an address book client or a converged address book server. Provided is a converged address book server that manages the sharing and updating of active interest information and address books. The active interest information may also be updated using a personal contact card associated with the first user. Also provided is a method and apparatus for prompting communication between contacts based on active interest information.

A user equipment (UE) and method are provided for displaying items associated with selected media content and to cycle such that multiple items are displayed over time. A UE is provided that includes at least one component configured to display a plurality of items provided in a filmstrip format and associated with a plurality of content and to cycle the items in the filmstrip format. A method therefore is also contemplated.
Abstract:
An apparatus, and an associated method, facilitates implementation of a parental control feature at a mobile station. A parental authority selects a parental control feature to be implemented at the mobile station and by way of a user interface at a computer workstation or a master mobile station. Detection is made of the selection, and a control signal is generated that includes identification of the selection. The control signal is sent to the affected mobile station. Once received at the mobile station, the control signal is detected, its contents ascertained, and the parental control feature is implemented at the mobile station.

A system and application are provided that enable social media shuffle functionality. Social media shuffle functionality allows users of the social media system to enjoy a variety of media that is not stored in their profile by allowing them access to all media stored in a media catalog or otherwise available to a friend. A social media shuffle operation is provided whereby a user can easily enjoy a wide variety of media with minimal user effort.

According to one aspect, an electronic device having a display for presenting a cursor and a graphic representation corresponding to a video. The electronic device also includes a selection mechanism for moving the cursor on the display, and a processor for detecting a presence of the cursor in a vicinity of the graphic representation on the display. The processor is further adapted to, upon detection of the presence of the cursor in the vicinity of the graphic representation on the display, play the video with a video player.
