摘要： A transmission or actuator offering one or more rotational outputs proportionate in speed and direction to that of a common rotational input, each with its own ratio coupled with a controllable dynamic slip/compliance element and optionally either of a one-way bearing or brake preventing back driving. Ratios are continuously variable between positive and negative values, including infinity, varied by mechanical or electromechanical actuators under external or computer control. The transmission may intrinsically integrate multiple partial transmissions for increasing torque capability, rapidly changing between alternate settings, and/or to drive multiple outputs with customizable design. A communicating system of such distributed transmissions forming a hierarchy or network, each transmission driven directly by a motor, indirectly by the output of another transmission, or both, including indirect cumulative forward and back driving throughout the hierarchy or network. Such a network of actuators for complex robotic, manufacturing, movement, or transport applications.

摘要： A method and system for setting up an emergency services call (ESC) to an emergency services network (ESN), where the method involves receiving a request to set up an ESC between a calling device and an ESN, determining whether the calling device is a fixed device or a mobile device, setting up the ESC to a wireless telephone number of the ESN if the calling device is a fixed device, and setting up the ESC to a wireless telephone number of the ESN if the calling device is a mobile device. In the case of the calling device being a fixed device, an ESC conversation is sent to the wireless telephone number of the ESN via a wireless air interface, and location determination information for determining the location of the calling device is sent to a landline signaling interface of the ESN using out-of-band signaling.

摘要： Methods and apparatus are provided for presenting information associated with display of text. In one embodiment a method includes displaying a graphical representation of at least one of text and diagram data on a display, displaying a graphical element, by the device, to provide an indication of information associated with the graphical representation, and detecting a triggering input during display of the graphical representation, wherein the triggering input is based on displacement of the device. The method may further include updating the display to present information associated with the graphical representation of the at least one of text and diagram data. Methods and devices may also be provided to allow for display of diagram data and information in a layered format, wherein information may be displayed separately or in addition to a graphical display.
