摘要： A corona wire cleaning device for a corona unit for cleaning corona wires stretched in a shield case, comprising: a driving wire wound on a driving pulley and an idle pulley for reciprocating motion along the length of the corona wire; and a cleaning member slidably mounted in the shield case for traveling motion in association with the reciprocating motion of the driving wire and having a cleaning tool which rubs and cleans the corona wire by the traveling motion thereof in one direction and which comes away from the corona wire by the traveling motion thereof in the other direction, whereby a foreign matter such as dust can be surely removed from the corona wire, thereby accomplishing reliable cleaning of the corona wire.

摘要： An image forming apparatus has an image bearing member on which a toner image is to be formed. A transfer roller contacts a surface of the image bearing member for transferring a toner image on the image bearing member to one side of a transfer medium by applying a voltage having a polarity opposite to that of the toner image on the image bearing member from the other side of the transfer medium. A biasing member biases the transfer roller toward the image bearing member. The transfer roller is shaped such that the outer diameter of a first part corresponding to the width of a specified sheet size is constant and the outer diameters of second parts located closer to opposite ends of the transfer roller than the first part are gradually increased toward the outer sides in an axial direction.

摘要： An image forming apparatus having: a plurality of photoreceptors provided along a sheet transportation path and each extending perpendicularly to the sheet transportation path; and an imaging mechanism for forming toner images on surfaces of the respective photoreceptors. A pair of support plates receive opposite end circumferential portions of the respective photoreceptors to support the photoreceptors together in a parallel relation. Bearings are fitted around the opposite end circumferential portions of the respective photoreceptors, and the pair of support plates each have the same number of cut-away portions as the number of the photoreceptors for receiving outer rings of the bearings, the cut-away portions being formed in a spaced apart relation.

摘要： An image-forming machine which forms an image on a photosensitive material drum which passes through the steps of electric charging, exposure to light, developing and transfer. A pair of side walls are disposed opposite to each other, spaced at a distance. Inner wheels of bearings have an inner wheel and an outer wheel. The inner wheels are secured to the outer peripheral surfaces of the photosensitive material drum at both ends thereof, and outer wheels of the bearings are secured to the corresponding side walls, so that the photosensitive material drum is rotatably supported by the side walls.

摘要： An image-forming machine includes an image-forming unit, a transfer belt assembly disposed beneath the image-forming unit so as to freely ascend and descend between an acting position and a non-acting position, and a lift device for asending and descending the transfer belt assembly. The transfer belt assembly includes a driven roller, a tension roller, an endless belt wrapped around the driven roller and the tension roller, and a resilient urging device for resiliently urging the tension roller toward a direction of applying tension to apply tension to the endless belt. A tension release device is disposed which, when the transfer belt assembly is descended to the non-acting position, moves the tension roller in the direction in which tension is no longer applied, against a resilient urging action of the resiliently urging device, so that the application of tension to the endless belt is discontinued. A tension release invalidation device is further disposed to invalidate the tension release action of the tension release device upon detecting the manual operation for drawing out the image-forming unit from a required acting position when the tension release device discontinues the application of tension to the endless belt.
