摘要:
A method and system for providing budget recommendations based on financial data from similarly situated individuals whereby financial transaction data associated with a given individual is analyzed to identify financial profile information associated with the given individual. The financial profile information associated with the given individual is then used to determine/define one or more “financial peer” identification criteria/parameters to be used for identifying individuals who are financially similarly situated with respect to the given individual. Financial data associated with various other individuals is obtained from one or more sources and the financial data associated with the other individuals is analyzed using the one or more financial peer identification criteria/parameters to identify one or more financial peers of the given individual. The financial data associated with the identified one or more financial peers of the given individual is then analyzed, aggregated, averaged, and/or otherwise processed, to provide the given individual one or more budget recommendations.

A method for error correction of a first misclassified transaction that includes receiving a request to correct the first misclassified transaction. The first misclassified transaction is associated with a first client accounting data store of a first client. The first misclassified transaction is associated with a first account, and the request is to change the first account to a second account. The method further includes generating a pattern for account correction based on the request, and applying the pattern to transactions to identify a second misclassified transaction. The transactions are associated with a second client accounting data store of a second client. The method further includes presenting a suggestion of a modification of the second misclassified transaction based on the pattern, and receiving an acceptance of the suggestion.

A method for categorizing financial transactions, that includes identifying a vendor of the first financial transaction. An attempt is made to categorize the transaction on a first categorization level complying with a first categorization scheme, then a second categorization level that complies with a second categorization scheme, and then a third categorization level that complies with a third categorization scheme. The first categorization scheme differs from the second categorization scheme. When the transaction cannot be categorized on a previous categorization level, the attempt is made for the next level and the second categorization level. The transaction is categorized on the third level. The method further includes displaying the vendor category.
