Abstract: Provided are a technique related to a CO2 electrolysis device that is more excellent in production efficiency for producing a reduction product (CO or the like) from CO2, and a technique related to a CO2 electrolysis device that can suppress a decrease in CO2 reduction efficiency and be stably operated. An aspect of the present invention is a CO2 electrolysis device including an electrode material. The CO2 electrolysis device includes: a support including a conductive carrier and a catalyst supported on the conductive carrier, the catalyst including any one or more of particles of a metal complex, a metal, or an inorganic compound; and an anion exchange resin covering a part or the whole of the surface of the support and including an ionomer of the following formula (1): where m and n represent natural numbers of 1 to 200.

For example, used is an anion exchange resin comprising a hydrophobic unit being composed of a plurality of divalent hydrophobic groups repeated via carbon-carbon bond, the divalent hydrophobic group having a plurality of aromatic rings which are connected to each other via a divalent fluorine-containing group; and a hydrophilic unit being composed of a plurality of hydrophilic groups repeated via carbon-carbon bond, the hydrophilic groups being composed of a plurality of aromatic rings which are connected to each other via a divalent hydrocarbon group and/or carbon-carbon bond, and the hydrophilic groups containing an anion exchange group-containing group including a quaternary ammonium salt having a piperidine ring, and wherein the hydrophobic unit and the hydrophilic unit are connected via carbon-carbon bond.

Abstract: The present invention provides a cation exchange resin, and a cation exchange membrane and an electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell using the same. The cation exchange resin comprises a divalent hydrophobic unit; and a divalent hydrophilic unit having divalent hydrophilic groups which are repeated via carbon-carbon bond. The divalent hydrophilic groups being composed of one aromatic ring, or being composed of a plurality of aromatic rings which are bonded to each other via a divalent hydrocarbon group, a divalent silicon-containing group, a divalent nitrogen-containing group, a divalent phosphorus-containing group, a divalent oxygen-containing group, a divalent sulfur-containing group, or carbon-carbon bond, and at least one of the aromatic rings having a cation exchange group; wherein the hydrophobic unit and the hydrophilic unit are bonded to each other via carbon-carbon bond.

For example, used is an anion exchange resin which has a hydrophobic unit being composed of bisphenol AF residues repeated via carbon-carbon bond and a hydrophilic unit being composed of hydrophilic groups repeated via carbon-carbon bond, in which the hydrophilic group is formed by connecting an anion exchange group to a fluorene backbone via a divalent saturated hydrocarbon group, and in which the hydrophobic unit and the hydrophilic unit are connected via carbon-carbon bond.

For example, the anion exchange resin is obtained by reacting a hydrophobic monomer with an aminoalkyl group-containing monomer, in which the hydrophobic monomer is composed of one aromatic ring or a plurality of aromatic rings to which two halogen atoms are bonded, and the aminoalkyl group-containing monomer is composed of one aromatic ring or a plurality of aromatic rings to which two halogen atoms are bonded and an aminoalkyl group is introduced; and by quaternizing the amino group. In the anion exchange resin, a divalent hydrophobic group formed by the residue of the hydrophobic monomer, and a divalent hydrophilic group formed by the residue of the quaternized aminoalkyl group-containing monomer are bonded via direct bond.-

A monomer for forming a hydrophobic group is reacted with a monomer for forming a hydrophilic group in the presence of bis(1,5-cyclooctadiene)nickel(0) as a catalyst, 2,2′-bipyridine as a co-ligand, a bromide or an iodide as a co-catalyst, and a reducing agent to produce an anion exchange resin where the hydrophobic group is connected to the hydrophilic group via direct bond, in which a mole number of bis(1,5-cyclooctadiene)nickel(0) is 0.3 to 1.8 times a total mole number of the monomer for forming a hydrophobic group and the monomer for forming a hydrophilic group.-
