摘要: An anion exchange membrane is composed of a copolymer of 1,1-diphenylethylene and one or more styrene monomers, such as 4-tert-butylstyrene. The copolymer includes a backbone substituted with a plurality of ionic groups coupled to phenyl groups on the backbone via hydrocarbyl tethers between about 1 and about 7 carbons in length. High-temperature conditions enabled by these copolymers enhance conductivity performance, making them particularly suitable for use in anion exchange membranes in fuel cells, electrolyzers employing hydrogen, ion separations, etc. The properties of the membranes can be tuned via the degree of functionalization of the phenyl groups and selection of the functional groups, such as quaternary ammonium groups. Several processes can be used to incorporate the desired ionic functional groups into the polymers, such as chloromethylation, radical bromination, Friedel-Crafts acylation and alkylation, sulfonation followed by amination, or combinations thereof.

In the arylsulfonic acid amine salt vinyl monomer, a tertiary amine having 2 or 3 different substituents that each have 1 to 7 carbon atoms and also containing at least one or more of tertiary carbon or quaternary carbon or cyclic skeleton in the structure is applied to an amine moiety thereof, and in addition, a polyarylsulfonic acid amine salt having high purity in terms of sulfonation rate and polymerization conversion rate and a polymer thereof are used.

摘要: A method for producing a purified fluoropolymer aqueous dispersion, which includes: (A) bringing a fluoropolymer aqueous dispersion obtained using a hydrocarbon surfactant into contact with an anion exchange resin A or a synthetic adsorbent. The anion exchange resin A has an ion-exchange group represented by the following general formula (A1): —N+R1R2R3X— wherein each of R1, R2, and R3 are the same or different, and are each a hydrogen atom or an organic group, and at least one of R1, R2, and R3 is an organic group having 3 or more carbon atoms; and X is a counter ion; or an ion-exchange group represented by the following general formula (A2): —NR4R5 wherein each of R4 and R5 are the same or different, and are each a hydrogen atom or an organic group, and at least one of R4 and R5 is an organic group having 2 or more carbon atoms.

摘要: A method for modifying a polymer carrier material for use as a stationary phase in an analytical or preparative separating method, the method comprising the steps of: providing a polymer carrier material, which is at least partly formed of aromatic hydrocarbon compounds comprising at least two vinyl or allyl substituents; producing hydroxy groups on/in the polymer carrier material by a method comprising an oxidative treatment of the polymer carrier material and a subsequent reductive or hydrolytic treatment of the reaction product; reacting the product from the previous step with a polyfunctional compound. The invention also relates to a polymer carrier material for use as a stationary phase in an analytical or preparative separating method, in particular a chromatography method, produced according to a method according to the invention.

摘要: A crosslinkable copolymer is provided. The crosslinkable copolymer has pendant cationic nitrogen-containing groups with some, but not all, of these pendant groups further including a (meth)acryloyl group. The (meth)acryloyl groups can react to form a crosslinked copolymer that is ionically conductive. The crosslinked copolymer can be used to provide an anion exchange membrane that can be used in electrochemical cells such as fuel cells, electrolyzers, batteries, and electrodialysis cells.
