摘要： A low ignition propensity cigarette according to the invention includes a high-density region formed in the center of the paper tube and containing normal shred tobacco filled to be a filling density of 0.15 to 0.35 g/cm3, for example 0.25 g/cm3, and a low density region formed between the paper tube and the high-density region and containing expanded shred tobacco filled to a filling density of 0.05 to 0.15 g/cm3, for example 0.14 g/cm3. The thickness of the low-density region defined between the paper tube and the high-density region is in the range of 1 to 3 mm.

摘要： A low ignition propensity cigarette paper includes base cigarette paper having a basis weight exceeding 22 g/m2, and a plurality of burn limiting areas arranged apart from one another on one surface of the base cigarette paper. The burn limiting areas are formed by applying sodium alginate having a degree of polymerization of about 500 to about 900 or sodium alginate whose 3% by weight aqueous solution exhibits a viscosity of 19000 cP or more as measured at 25° C.

The tobacco filler material contains at least 20% by weight of expanded tobacco material. The tobacco wrapping paper sheet is coated with the burn adjusting agent during transfer of the tobacco wrapping paper sheet.
