    摘要: An actuator supports a head at one end of a rotatably supported shaft unit and supports a coil of a voice coil motor at the other end, and moves the head to an arbitrary track position of a recording medium. A sensor, attached to a coil support unit of the actuator, detects the coil vibration and outputs a vibration detected signal. A control unit controls the actuator to reduce a head position error signal based on the vibration detected signal of the sensor in time of seek and in time of settling of moving the head to a target track position on the medium through drive of the actuator and drawing the same. The vibration detected signal of the sensor includes bending vibration component of the coil and the twisting vibration component of the coil when the actuator is driven.

    摘要: This invention relates to a disk drive and a method of writing data to the disk drive. In a disk drive including a write head, a read head and a positioning unit of a head which includes a write element and a read element, the present invention provides the disk drive with a position error measuring unit for measuring the amount of a position error of the write element and the read element; and a write/read control unit for obtaining an offset amount of the head in accordance with the amount of the position error of the head, setting the offset amount to the positioning unit so as to offset the head, and effecting data write/read operation. When format write operation is executed, only an ID portion is offset in the same direction as the direction of the position error so measured in accordance with the measured amount of the position error, and is written.

For example, an HDD 12-1 makes another HDD to perform long distance seek using this communication line and measures the influence of vibration caused at that time. The measurement result is formed into a transfer function indicating the position change of the head of the relevant HDD against the operation of another HDD. An HDD is actually driven by a current value obtained by correcting the normal driving current of the driving motor of the head by the transfer function.
