Abstract:
An all-plastic light duty shelf unit includes rectangular shelf modules and vertical spacers. Each shelf module has four corner joints that can either be mated directly with each other or coupled together using cylindrical vertical spacers. This allows the user to customize the configuration of the shelf unit to meet his or her specific needs. It also reduces the cost to manufacture the shelf unit because the vertical spacers can be extruded rather than injection-molded. The corner joints also hold a shelf off the floor, thereby reducing part count and manufacturing cost.
Abstract:
An all plastic container has a plurality of drawers which are pivotally secured within a frame. The drawers have pivot studs which are introduced into ramped grooves in the sides of the frame and which are retained within recesses in the sides when the container is fully assembled. Advantageously, the recesses are located behind the front surface of the container by approximately 40% of the depth of the frame.

An all-plastic module forms a letter-by-legal frame in which file folders can hang. The module is assembled from two identical end pieces and two identical side pieces. Casters can be attached to the module so it can roll on a floor or a desktop. The modules can be stacked. A lid can be detachably secured to a module to prevent dust from settling on the file folders therein.

An all plastic folding basket can be made in a letter by legal size. This is accomplished by using end panels which are recessed at their free ends so as to mate together when the basket is folded, whereby the free ends of the end panels overlap when the basket is folded.

An all-plastic shelf unit module has a sliding drawer supported below its underside. The module has four pieces: a drawer, a shelf piece, and two slide supports that support the drawer beneath the shelf piece. The slide supports have intromittent plugs that plug into sockets located on the bottom surface of the shelf piece. The plugs have a "lock in place" feature that locks them in place once they have been fully inserted, and such insertion is accomplished by horizontal motion.
