Abstract: According to an embodiment of the invention, an ostomy appliance coupling system is disclosed. The system comprises a wafer part having a rise extending away from a body surface to form a guide means and a shallow landing zone; a pouch part having a guide adapted to engage with the landing zone in a desired location relative to the guide means; and an adhesive layer recessed within the guide and adapted to adhere to the landing zone.
