    摘要: A heat sink assembly includes a heat sink (20), a clip (40), and a spring clamp (60). The heat sink includes a base (21), pin fins (23), and slots (25, 27) defined between respective adjacent rows of the pins in perpendicular crisscross fashion. The clip made from a flexible metal wire includes a central body (41) with a raised portion (43), and two arms (45) extending perpendicularly but in different directions from opposite ends of the body. A hook (47) is formed at a free end of each arm. The spring clamp includes an elongate central pressing portion (61). A longitudinal opening (63) defined in the pressing portion engagingly receives the raised portion. Two pairs of elastically deformable wings (65) extend from respective opposite sides of the pressing portion. The clamp is resiliently retained in corresponding slots of the heat sink, and thus secures the clip to the heat sink.

A locking hole (17) is defined in an end of each locking arm for engaging with catches (82) of a socket (80). The post has a pressing block (44) at a bottom portion and a cutout (42) at a top portion. The spring is placed around the post and rests on the pressing block The post extends through a through aperture (13) of the horizontal portion, and the cutout pivotally receives a cam (32) at one end of the handle. When the handle is pressed, the horizontal portion of the main body is raised by the decompressed spring, so that the locking arms tightly engage with the catches of the socket.

    摘要: A heat sink clip (10) is shaped from a single piece of metal wire. Opposite ends of the metal wire are bent to form a generally twin strand structure that is the clip. The clip includes a central pressing portion (12), two resilient connecting portions (18) extending outwardly and upwardly from the pressing portion, and two arms (14) depending from distal ends of the connecting portions. The pressing portion has four contact points at a bottom thereof, for pressing a heat sink (20) onto a CPU (30). A pair of hooks (16, 16′) is inwardly formed from distal ends of the arms respectively, for engaging with a pair of retaining ears (42) at opposite sides of a CPU socket (40). The contact points of the pressing portion enable the heat sink to be securely fastened to the CPU mounted on the CPU socket.
