摘要: A raft apparatus having inflation flotation structures which are capable of heat sealing for assembly thereof wherein one or more flexible buffer members of not heat sealable material are adapted to shield portions of the panel members of the flotation raft from heat sealing to surrounding areas to thereby form an effect seal particularly by allowing heat sealing operations to be formed upon already assembled sections. At least one of the two panel members will be inflatable and will include a buffer member positioned therein to shield the heat sealing point thereof from the remaining portion of the inflatable structure member to prevent undesired heat sealing thereof during heat sealing of the interconnection between the two main panel members.

摘要: A process of refining steel in a ladle using solid granules or briquettes made from recycled LMF slag and raw materials to make a desulfurizing addition, a slag conditioner or synthetic refining slag is described. The preferred recycled LMF slag material generally comprises of 35% to about 65% CaO; 10% to about 35% Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 ; 1% to about 10% SiO.sub.2 ; 3% to about 15% MgO; 0.3% to about 10% FeO; 0.1% to about 5% MnO; 0% to about 0.5% P.sub.2 O.sub.5 ; and 0.1% to about 0.5% S. The ladle refining additive comprises from about 10% to about 90% of a recycled ladle metallurgy furnace slag and the balance of raw materials selected from the group consisting of: a calcium oxide source; soda ash; fluorspar; borax; calcium carbonate; aluminum source; calcium aluminate; alumina source; metallic calcium, magnesium, sodium and their oxides, fluorides and carbides; and mixtures of all of the foregoing.

摘要: A novel method is provided for removing lint, hair, and other particulate matter from fabric articles such as clothing, upholstery, or draperies. A sprayable aerosol adhesive composition is applied to flexible sheet material, such as a paper towel, so as to splatter the surface of the sheet with tacky adherent globules of a tackified or plasticized resin without forming a continuous coating on the surface. The sprayed surface of the sheet is ready within 60 seconds for contacting with the fabric from which the particulate matter is to be removed.

摘要: A method and apparatus is disclosed for producing high page count signatures for printed publications. Signatures with a 96 page count and 128 page count are illustrated and described herein. In either case, the signature is constructed of four sheets of printed sheet materials which are preferably continuous webs of sheet material that are fed to a folding and cutting apparatus. The four sheets or webs are folded in half along a main longitudinal fold line extending in the direction in which the web travels. Preferably, the webs are perforated along the main longitudinal fold line prior to being folded. The webs, after being folded in half, are perforated to create a longitudinally extending hinge. Also, the webs are preferably perforated to create cross fold lines. In the case of the 96 page count signature, the folded webs are divided into thirds by the cross fold lines. The folded webs of the 128 page count signature are divided into fourths by the cross fold lines. The webs are then cut into sections which are folded along the fold lines to form the individual signatures.

摘要: A packaged aerosol preparation is provided for use in removing lint, hair and other particulate matter from fabrics. The sprayable liquid composition is packaged in a valve-equipped aerosol container. The composition includes an acrylic polymer or copolymer resin, a tackifier or plasticizer, and a liquified propellant consisting of either dimethyl ether or a mixture of dimethyl ether with a hydrocarbon propellant. The composition can be applied to absorbent substrates such as paper towels to provide an effective, disposable removal device.
