摘要： A method and apparatus for searching message data in a portable electronic device are provided. A threaded message inbox is provided at a display of the device, the message data grouped as threads. Search criteria are received and a search of an index of the threaded message inbox is initiated using the search criteria, the index comprising key words extracted from the message data. Additional message data is received while the search is being performed, the additional message data belonging to a given thread. Additional message data is searched in addition to the index. Search results are generated based on whether at least one of data from additional message data and data from the index meets the search criteria. Search results are provided in threads at the display. Search results are automatically updated in response to receiving additional message data when the additional message data meets the search criteria.

摘要： In a storage area network (SAN), a SAN management application provides a security audit log of security sensitive user actions performed across the storage area network. In a SAN, multiple services operate to perform requested user actions. Configurations herein substantially overcome the shortcomings of conventional SAN security event logging by providing a comprehensive security audit mechanism operable to identify and record user actions. An event normalizer disposed in each of the services identifies requested user actions, creates a uniform user action object, and sends the user action object to a coalescer operable to receive user action objects from the plurality of services in the SAN. The user action object provides a generic template responsive to each of the event normalizers in the services. The event normalizers normalize event properties and attributes concerning a user action into the generic user action object, and employs preexisting conduits for gathering and recording events.

The entry points are associated with services such as message services and are actuatable to invoke a content listing display for viewing content associated with a given service. One entry point provides access to a unified inbox for display of messages received or sent via a plurality of message services. Other entry points provide access to other message services or filtered views of the unified inbox. Access to the various entry points is provided via a user interface displaying one or more user interface elements, such as icons, pointing to the various entry points. Display of the elements is managed so as to hide elements pointing to potentially duplicative views.
