Abstract: A circuit breaker includes: first and second contacts moveable relative to each other along an axis of the circuit breaker between an open and closed configuration and defining an arcing region in which an arc is formed during current breaking operation; a nozzle directing a flow of quenching gas onto the arcing region during current breaking operation, a diffusor downstream of the nozzle for further transporting the quenching gas within the arcing region and/or downstream of the arcing region, and a mechanical swirling device arranged downstream of the nozzle and at least partially in the diffusor for imparting a swirl onto the quenching gas flowing along the diffusor, the mechanical swirling device having an axial overlap with the second contact in the open configuration of the circuit breaker.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a gas-insulated high or medium voltage circuit breaker including a first arcing contact and a second arcing contact, wherein at least one of the two arcing contacts is axially movable including a first and a second state of motion along a switching axis, wherein during a breaking operation, an arc between the first arcing contact and the second arcing contact is formed in an arcing region; a nozzle including a channel directed to the arcing region, for blowing an arc-extinguishing gas to the arcing region during the breaking operation; a diffuser adjacent to the nozzle, for transporting the gas from the arcing region to a region downstream of the diffuser; a buffer volume directly downstream of the diffuser, and an enclosure substantially surrounding the buffer volume circumferentially.

Abstract: Radiator for a transformer comprising a plurality of radiator panels with at least a first and a second radiator panel extending in a substantially vertical direction, wherein the first and the second radiator panel form an air duct providing a gap there-between having a width of smaller than 90 mm, and wherein a first radio panel bottom edge is located at a lower vertical height position than a second radiator panel bottom edge, wherein the first radiator panel is located at a side of the radiator panel such that the first radiator panel and a transformer side form a transformer air duct wherein the second radio panel bottom edge is located at a larger height than the first radio panel bottom edge and wherein the radiator panels have an aspect ratio greater than 8 of a depth of the radiator panel over a width of the air duct.

Abstract: A gas-insulated high-voltage switching device which includes an arcing contact arrangement having a first arcing zone member and a second arcing zone member that are movable relative to one another along an axis. An auxiliary nozzle surrounds at least a part of a second arcing contact unit and has an auxiliary nozzle throat having an axial extension and allowing passage at least of an end of the first arcing contact unit. A main nozzle throat has an axial extension sideways of the auxiliary nozzle throat and allows passage at least of the end of the first arcing contact unit. A cross-sectional area of the main nozzle throat is substantially decreasing in the direction away from the auxiliary nozzle throat so as to form a substantially converging duct for the flow of an arc-extinguishing gas.
