    Abstract: A combination current sensor is disclosed. The combination current sensor includes a self-powering current transformer (CT), comprising a CT core having a CT coil wound therearaound. The CT coil comprises a predetermined number of individual turns of a conductive wire wound progressively along a length of the CT core to define a winding density, wherein the winding density of the CT coil varies along the length of the CT coil core. The combination current sensor also includes a Rogowski current sensing transformer, which includes a Rogowski core and a Rogowski coil wound therearound.

    Abstract: A system and method for predicting electrical arcs in an electrical circuit is provided. A time series data of the electrical circuit is received by a prediction system which is configured to detect an electrical signature indicating an upcoming electrical arc. The prediction system constructs Hankel matrix using the time series data which is decomposed using SVD to obtain a singular vector in which delay coordinate embedding is performed to generate reconstructed singular vector which includes plurality of eigen time delay coordinates. Further, threshold coefficient ‘r’ is calculated from the reconstructed singular vector. A first set of eigen time delay coordinates is identified in the reconstructed singular vector based on ‘r’ which are rth eigen time delay coordinates. A rate of change in magnitude of rth eigen time delay coordinates is calculated to detect the electrical signature based on which the upcoming electrical arc is predicted.

    Abstract: A system and method for protecting an electric power distribution system integrated with a hybrid machine-learning model includes a plurality of field protection systems, a plurality of electrical switching circuits, and a local area network. Data from each of the plurality of field protection systems that is connected to the electrical switching circuits that are configured for protecting the electric power distribution system, is transmitted to the cloud. The received data is processed to identify a change in patterns and compute an error related to the HMLM in comparison with the processed data. The HMLM that is implemented in the plurality of FPS is calibrated to minimize the error and send updates to develop a new decision making firmware thereby to control actuation of the plurality of the electrical switching circuits.

The PS comprising, a plurality of sensors configured to measure data; a memory configured to store an updated data of nuisance-trip events and a plurality of nuisance-trip parameters detected or generated on the electric power system over a period; a processor configured to perform hybrid machine learning (HML) based on the measured data from the plurality of sensors for a nuisance-trip condition and communicate with a neighboring PS; a protection microcontroller configured to allow or avoid tripping at least one electronic tripping circuit provided in the at least one EPC by communicating with the processor and the neighboring PS.
