Abstract: A method, a communication device, a computer program, and a computer program product for cyclic time-slotted operation in a wireless industrial network. The communication device includes a memory having a first memory area and a second memory area. The method includes running an application software at application layer. The application software is associated with a first pointer. The method includes operating a communication hardware at physical layer. The communication hardware is associated with a second pointer. The first pointer and the second pointer in a given timeslot point at a respective different one of the memory areas, such that in the given timeslot the application software is enabled to access one of the memory areas and the communication hardware is enabled to access the other of the memory areas. The method includes swapping the pointers to the memory areas at the end of each cycle of the cyclic time-slotted operation

Abstract: A method for time-slotted scheduling of packets in timeslots between N nodes and K>1 access points in an industrial wireless network, performed by a network controller of the industrial wireless network. The method includes determining the time-slotted scheduling by allocating each timeslot to a respective one of the nodes, wherein each timeslot for each node is divided in K sub-slots, one for each access point, such that in sub-slot k of each timeslot, where 1≤k≤K, transmission or reception of a packet is made between access point k and the node to which that timeslot is allocated. The method includes providing information to the access points about the determined time-slotted scheduling.

Abstract: A communication method for wireless communication uses a TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) super-frame structure for scheduling uplink and downlink transmissions between a first node and a second node, the second node receives receiving a downlink transmission from the first node and transmits an uplink response to the first node. The transmission of the uplink response is performed in an uplink frame of the super-frame structure. The uplink frame includes a field for uplink payload data and a field for time indicating data. The transmission of the uplink response includes transmitting time stamps in the time indicating data field, the time stamps indicating a time instance of the receiving of the downlink transmission, and the time instance of the transmitting of the uplink response. The time instances are determined using the clock of the second node.
