Abstract: A flame-retardant clear coat is produced by applying to the surface of a substrate a paint consisting of ammonium phosphate monobasic, pentaerythritol, dicyandiamide and a vehicle; a decorative material; and a paint consisting of a polyurethane resin of the type used in paints, tris(2-chloroethyl)-phosphate and tris(2-bromoethyl)-phosphite in the order mentioned.
