Abstract:
A polymer capable of self-curing or cross-linking at room temperature is produced by free radical polymerization in a nonprotonic solvent of: A. i. a combination of (a) at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound having an epoxy group and (b) at least one ethylenically unsaturated compound having a tertiary amino group selected from the group consisting of an N,Ndisubstituted amino group, a pyridyl group, a quinolyl group and an isoquinolyl group or II. AT LEAST ONE ETHYLENICALLY UNSATURATED COMPOUND HAVING ONE EPOXY GROUP AND ONE TERTIARY AMINO GROUP SELECTED FROM THE GROUP CONSISTING OF AN N,N-disubstituted amino group, a pyridyl group, a quinolyl group and an isoquinolyl group, and optionally B. at least one free radical-copolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated compound other than the ethylenically unsaturated compounds (i) and (ii) and which is free of active hydrogen atoms.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a composition comprising one or more members selected from the group consisting of vinyl ether derivatives of hydroxychalcone and homologs thereof and a cationic polymerization catalyst. It further concerns a photosensitive polymer obtained by polymerizing or copolymerizing the said composition. The polymerization or copolymerization product is a linear polymer or linear copolymer wherein only the vinyl group is polymerized and the photosensitive group is retained quantatively in the side chain. This polymer or copolymer has high photosensitivity and enables a photocrosslinking reaction to occur uniformly.
Abstract:
A PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A PHOTOROPIC HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT POLYMER COMPRISING REACTING THIONINE WITH AN N-HYDROXYMETHYL GROUP OF A POLYMER OF AN NHYDROXYMETHYL(METH)ACRYLAMIDE IN A DEHYDRATIVE CONDENSATION REACTION TO JOIN SAID THIONINE TO SAID POLYMER.
Abstract:
A composition is produced by combining one or more members selected from the group consisting of omega -vinyloxyalkyl cinnamate, omega -vinyloxyalkyl styrylacrylate and homologs thereof with a cationic polymerization catalyst. This composition is polymerized or copolymerized to form a novel photosensitive polymer. The product of polymerization or copolymerization is a linear polymer or linear copolymer in which only the vinyl group is polymerized and the photosensitive group is quantitatively retained in the side chain. This polymer or copolymer enjoys a high degree of photosensitivity and permits the photocrosslinking reaction to occur uniformly.
