Abstract: Spherical aggregates each having ribbon-shaped crystals of xonotlite intertwined is produced by hydrothermally reacting a slurry of silicic acid, and lime and spraying the resultant suspension under conditions of high temperature and pressure. A shaped article are produced by mixing the said spherical aggregates with a biding agent, shaping the resultant mixture to form, pressurizing the shaped mixture and drying the compressed shaped mixture.
