Abstract:
Methods and systems for fabricating synthetic source rocks with organic materials, for example, using high energy resonant acoustic mixing technology, are provided. An example method includes preparing one or more organic components including kerogen, mixing, by utilizing resonant acoustic waves, the one or more organic components with one or more inorganic components to obtain a mixture, and processing the mixture to fabricate a synthetic source rock. Another example method includes mixing one or more organic components and one or more inorganic components with a kerogen precursor as an organic binder to obtain a mixture including artificial kerogen and processing the mixture to fabricate a synthetic source rock. One or more mechanical or chemo-mechanical properties of the synthetic source rock can be characterized as one or more functions of the one or more organic components and the one or more inorganic components.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a concrete mixture comprising an amount of coarse aggregate, an amount of cement, an amount of crumb rubber, and an amount of steel fibers. Also disclosed are methods for the manufacture of same.
Abstract:
A variety of methods and compositions are disclosed, including, in one embodiment, a method of treating a well comprising: providing a treatment fluid comprising a base fluid and a blended cementitious component, wherein the blended cementitious component comprises kiln dust from two or more different sources; and introducing the treatment fluid into a well bore.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A self-priming spackling compound includes between about 35% by weight and about 65% by weight acrylic latex resin, between about 20% by weight and about 50% by weight filler material, and between about 1% by weight and about 20% by weight water. In certain aspects, the latex resin may have an average latex particle size of less than about 0.18 microns, a minimum film formation temperature of less than about 15 degrees Celsius, and/or a glass transition temperature (Tg) of less than about 25 degrees Celsius. To further enhance the self-priming performance of the spackling compound, the formulation may further comprise a colorant such as titanium dioxide.
Abstract:
Provided are an additive for skim coat mortar and a skim coat mortar composition including the same, and the additive is a blend of cellulose ether having hydroxyalkylalkyl cellulose cross-linked with an aldehyde compound and hydroxyalkyl cellulose cross-linked with an aldehyde compound. By applying the additive to a skim coat mortar composition, it is possible to improve workability, surface luster, and a creamy property while maintaining a water retention property.
Abstract:
A self-repairing concrete includes urea-formaldehyde resin polymer micro-capsules, in which the urea-formaldehyde resin polymer micro-capsules are mixed for a fixed function of micro-cracks. The quality mixture ratio is: concrete/micro capsules/water=100:1-15:15-50. The manufacturing method is weighing a full amount of water in a container, adding urea-formaldehyde resin polymer micro-capsules, stirring, until fully dispersed microcapsules; pouring the water into the mixing container, adding the corresponding quality of cement; stirring; adding sand and gravel filling materials, conducting worksite watering, ⅓ volume for each time, vibrating, and air exhausting; until the paste filling mold.
