Abstract: An analytical instrument having a sensing system, a stage adapted to receive a sample carrier, a motion actuator assembly for positioning the sensing system and/or the stage, a temperature control element, and a signal processing module are disclosed. Methods of analyzing cell samples with the analytical instrument are also disclosed.
