Abstract: Spherical glass beads of less than 30 mils in average diameter and preferably less than 5 mils in average diameter are embedded in metallic coatings such as aluminum, zinc, tin or lead to a depth of from 1/6 to 1/2 their average diameter by propelling said spheres by compressed air against the coating while it is in a molten condition.
