Abstract: Systems, methods, and software for submitting video evidence. A request is received from a user of a security device to submit an identified video clip as video evidence to an agency, and the identified video clip and corresponding metadata is retrieved from a database of video clips. Additional information about content of the video clip is interactively collected from the owner and a digital signature is received from the owner. A video evidence file is generated to include the content of the identified video clip, information regarding capture of the video clip based upon the metadata, the additional information, and the digital signature. The video evidence file is then communicated to the agency.

Abstract: This application is directed to an electronic device that operates as both a sound component for a doorbell and a component of a security system. For instance, the electronic device may receive a signal from the doorbell. The electronic device may then output a sound associated with the doorbell. Additionally, the electronic device may receive data from one or more sensors associated with the security system. Based on the data, the electronic device may perform one or more functions. For instance, if the electronic device sets a specific mode of the security system, the electronic device may output a sound representing an alarm of the security system. Additionally, the electronic device may send data to another electronic device, such as a server or a client device, that indicates that the one or more sensors detected an event.

Abstract: A method of determining compatibility of a network hardware device for connecting to a home security network involves receiving, by a processor of a client device, data from a capture input device of the client device. The data includes identification information associated with the network hardware device. The method also involves transmitting, by the client device, to a server computing device the data comprising the identification information associated with the network hardware device. The method further involves receiving, from the server computing device, compatibility information indicating whether the network hardware device is compatible with a hub device of the home security network. Additionally, the method involves displaying, on a display of the client device, the compatibility information.
