    摘要: Corner joint is formed among three structural members by positioning two of the members against each other and positioning a third member in abutting relationship to the first two members. A three-armed connecting member or bracket is located against stop surfaces on the members and secured thereto so that the three members are ridgedly held in fixed relationship to each other. Improved fastening in accordance with the invention is formed by positioning a fastening member or connector member between two opposed surfaces of another member such as a structural member for a corner joint. A sidewall on the structural member is permanently deformed into a recess in the connector member in a manner such that the connector member and the structural member cannot move relative to each other in any direction.

    摘要: An improved electrical component is disclosed which may be rapidly connected to wires without the need of special tools. The back cover of the component housing includes a number of integral wire carrying members which are movably attached to the cover and arranged to drive wires carried thereby onto metallic lances of the contact members of the component without the aid of special tools. The metallic contact members include two identical interconnected ends which are arranged to be separated by removing a tear strip therebetween so that the ends of the contact can be individually wired. this tear strip is removed simply by pulling with a pair of pliers or the like.

    摘要: A replacement cover is disclosed for use with electrical wiring devices which are connected to multiconductor cables in an electrical system by pressing the cables into related slotted beam contacts mounted in the wiring device. The subject replacement cover is utilized when a wiring device is replaced. The new wiring device is positioned on the existing wires and the cover is snapped over the associated housing. Individual termination plugs are inserted into slots in the cover. As the plugs are inserted they apply adequate pressure to engage the appropriate wire and force it into engagement with the slotted beam contacts of the device. Retaining latches in the plugs maintain them in the cover to prevent removal and also to close the openings. The installation of this cover can be accomplished with simply a pair of pliers.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to a printed circuit edge connector which is capable of connecting a plurality of printed circuit boards with connector elements extending outwardly from the edges thereof to a connector housing wherein the terminals are positioned on at least two adjacent sides of the printed circuit board and without this assembling of the connector housing. This is accomplished by use of a pin which is inserted into a slot in the connector housing in which the connector elements are positioned and pushes all of the connector elements therein in a direction out of the slot through which the terminals on the printed circuit board would travel during assembly. In this way, the printed circuit board can be slid along the grooves of the connector housing for the full length thereof while the pin is inserted and is biasing the connectors in the connector housing out of the path of travel. Upon removal of the pin, the connectors in the connector housing assume their original position due to their resiliency or spring action and abut the terminals of the printed circuit to complete the electrical connection.
