Abstract: In the hydrostatic extrusion of tubes using a pressure chamber and a mandrel, in order to center the mandrel the pressure chamber is divided into two parts by a piston-like billet holder, through which the mandrel passes. The billet holder includes a first portion with an opening on the mandrel and a second portion fitting within the pressure chamber. The first portion is radially slidable with respect to the second portion.
