Abstract: A processing system of a user endpoint device including at least one processor may initiate an audio call for the user endpoint device at a location, select a wireless access point type from among a plurality of wireless access point types for the audio call based on at least one of: performance metrics collected by the user endpoint device at the location or performance metrics for the location obtained by the user endpoint device from a remote database, and implement the audio call via the wireless access point type that is selected.

Abstract: An indicator (e.g., “5G+” or “5G”) displayed on a mobile device is based on whether the mobile device is connected in or (if idle) has the potential of connecting in a high channel bandwidth frequency band (e.g., n77 or mmWave). An accurate indication is displayed when the mobile device is connected, or when idle and the aggregated bandwidth is not directly known, such as when anchored to a lower bandwidth cell. When in idle mode, the mobile device can maintain cell identifiers (“fingerprints”) and determine a location estimated to be within a high bandwidth cell, to thereby determine potential high bandwidth operation (e.g., and display 5G+) when connected. When in the idle mode, the mobile device can evaluate neighbor cells including if within a high channel bandwidth cell's coverage to decide whether to select “5G+” or “5G” for display to indicate the potential high bandwidth operation (or not) when connected.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example: determining whether a Subscriber Identify Module (SIM) profile that supports communication via Citizen Band Radio Spectrum (CBRS) is present on a device, resulting in a determination; responsive to the determination being that the SIM profile that supports the communication via the CBRS is present on the device, providing to a user via an interface an element that permits the user to select enabling of communication via the CBRS, disabling of communication via the CBRS, or any combination thereof; receiving from the interface a selection by the user, wherein the selection indicates either an instruction by the user to enable the communication via the CBRS, or an instruction by the user to disable the communication via the CBRS; and responsive to the selection: enabling the communication via the CBRS in a first case that the selection indicates the instruction by the user to enable the communication via the CBRS; or disabling the communication via the CBRS in a second case that the selection indicates the instruction by the user to disable the communication via the CBRS. Other embodiments are disclosed.
