Abstract: A stator system for an axial flux machine for an aircraft, the stator system comprising a plurality of inverters and a stator including a plurality of disks wherein each disk comprises at least one dielectric substrate and at least a one conductive trace included in at least one conductive layer defined by the dielectric substrate, the at least one conductive trace forming at least a part of a winding of a at least one phase of the stator, wherein each disk is associated and connected to its own inverter.
