Abstract: An aircraft, including a hydrogen consumer and a hydrogen supply device for supplying the hydrogen consumer with hydrogen, the hydrogen supply device having a cryogenic hydrogen tank for storing liquid hydrogen. In order to lower the weight while improving performance of the hydrogen tank during different flight conditions, embodiments of the aircraft further include a suspension arrangement with suspension elements for suspending the hydrogen tank on a structure of the aircraft, wherein the hydrogen tank includes a tank wall made from fiber reinforced composite material, and wherein the suspension arrangement includes a plurality of first tensile loaded dry fiber suspension elements fixed to load introduction areas on the hydrogen tank such that the suspension elements extend essentially tangential to a surface of the hydrogen tank at the associated load introduction area.

Abstract: For improving storage of hydrogen in a vehicle, a hydrogen tank assembly is provided for a vehicle. The hydrogen tank assembly includes an inner tank wall defining a hydrogen tank volume configured for storing liquid hydrogen; and an outer hydrogen collector defining, together with the inner tank wall, at least one cavity outside of the hydrogen tank volume and including at least one hydrogen outlet for leading gaseous hydrogen which leaks from the hydrogen tank through the inner tank wall into the at least one cavity to a hydrogen storage or a hydrogen consumer.

Abstract: A hydrogen tank assembly is provided for use in vehicles, such as aircraft. The hydrogen tank assembly has an inner tank wall, an outer tank wall, and an inert gas source. The inner tank wall defines a hydrogen tank volume that is surrounded by a shroud volume which is defined by the outer tank wall. The hydrogen tank volume is filled with cryogenic hydrogen and has a higher pressure than the shroud volume that is filled with an inert gas, such as helium. The counter-pressure of the inert gas prevents micro-cracks in the inner tank wall and increases the in-service life.
