Abstract: Embodiments relate to an intraoral scanner that includes one or more light projectors to emit coherent light, the one or more light projectors including a laser diode. Safety circuitry is coupled to the laser diode, the safety circuitry configured to detect a power level of the laser diode and disable the laser diode responsive to detecting that the power level satisfies a threshold power level.
