Imaging apparatus including an imaging surface having a toner image formed thereon and an intermediate transfer member, which receives the toner image from the imaging surface and from which it is subsequently transferred. The intermediate transfer member includes a drum having mounting recesses formed therein and an intermediate transfer blanket mounted on the drum. The blanket has a layered transfer portion having a transfer surface on one face thereof which receives the toner image and optionally an adhesive layer on the opposite face thereof and a mounting fixture, attached to one edge of the layered transfer portion and adapted to mate with the mounting recesses in the drum, whereby the transfer blanket is fixedly and removably mounted on the drum.

A method of controlling a network (115) through which information is transmitted in channels (λ1, λ2, . . . λn) among nodes includes: (a) providing at a node a device (108) for removing from the network (115) and replacing on the network (115) a selected one (λi) of the channels, the device (108) including a first input port from the network (115) to the node and a first output port from the node to the network (115); (b) taking a measure of the strength (PλiDROP) of the received channel (λiDROP); (c) regenerating the channel (λiIN); (d) adjusting (114) the strength (PλiADD) of the regenerated channel (λiIN) to approximate the strengths of the remaining channels ((λ1, λ2, . . . λn)-λi; and (e) combining the regenerated and strength-adjusted channel (λiADD) with the remaining channels ((λ1, λ2, . . . λn)-λi) at the output port. The method further or alternatively includes (f) calculating an average signal strength (PAVERAGE) for each active channel; (g) establishing a target signal strength (PiTARGET) for each channel; (h) determining a required change (ΔPi) in signal strength; and, (i) sending the node a message to adjust the strength of a signal coupled to the first output port.

A method for pattern recognition and localization using a joint transform correlator and joint transform correlator. The method includes providing a joint image of a reference image and an input scene image at the input plane of the correlator, receiving the joint image and providing a Fourier transform interference field of the reference image and the input scene image, receiving the Fourier transform interference field and providing a joint power spectrum, compensating for noise prevailing within the input scene image by processing the joint power spectrum to produce a noise compensated joint power spectrum, and receiving the noise compensated joint power spectrum and providing a noise tolerant correlation signal so as to enhance pattern recognition and localization capabilities.
