    摘要: Apparatus demodulates frequency-modulated information signals on a radio frequency signal carrying on a suppressed superaudio carrier signal, amplitude-modulated spectral components in a subcarrier channel frequency range above the audio frequency range and frequency modulated spectral components within the audio range. A demodulator demodulates the frequency-modulated information signals to provide detected audio signals having spectral components within the audio frequency range and detected superaudio signals having spectral components including those within the subcarrier channel frequency range above the audio frequency range in response to modulated radiated radio frequency signals arriving at the apparatus over a number of paths of different lengths. There is a reference signal source responsive to the detected superaudio signals that provides a reference signal of the frequency of the suppressed subcarrier characterized by a phase shift substantially the same as that imparted to the detected spectral components within the subcarrier channel frequency range. The reference signal is combined with the detected spectral components within the subcarrier channel frequency range to provide an audio signal.

    摘要: A receiver for receiving an amplitude modulated signal with upper and lower sidebands, comprising: an independent sideband decoder for providing demodulated upper and lower sideband audio signals, a combiner for differentially combining the upper and lower sideband audio signals to provide a noise signal, a quality detector apparatus for providing upper and lower quality signals representative of undesired noise in the upper and lower sideband audio signals respectively, and a selector responsive to the quality signals for processing the upper and lower sideband audio signals to provide an output audio signal with reduced noise. The quality detector includes a correlator for correlating the noise and audio signal in the associated sideband to provide the quality signals. In another aspect of the invention, the receiver also comprises a plurality of band-pass filters for selectively transmitting spectral components of the upper and lower sideband audio signals in contiguous frequency bands, a corresponding plurality of said combiners, and a summer for summing the output audio signals provided by said selectors. The quality detectors and the selectors are associated with a respective band pass filter.

    摘要: A loudspeaker driver has its front surface adjacent one end of a low loss acoustic waveguide and its rear surface adjacent to one end of a second acoustic waveguide that is one third the length of the first. The other openings of the waveguides face air and couple acoustical energy substantially uniformly over a relatively broad range of frequencies extenting into the bass frequency region. An equalizer includes a notch filter so that the frequency response of the equalizer below a bass cutoff frequency is sufficiently low to prevent audible distortion.

The first transducer and the second transducer are constructed and arranged to receive a common electrical signal so that the movable element in the first transducer and the movable element in the second transducer move in phase opposition in response to the common electrical signal to significantly reduce the vibrating force imparted to the baffle.

The FM circuit has an FM output for providing a received FM signal, and the AM circuit has an output for providing an AM signal that includes a sum of signals derived from the outputs of the antennas.

    摘要: A vehicle has an engine and a sound amplifying system characterized by a frequency response including a signal source and a manually operable sound level setting control that establishes the sound level of the desired signal in the vehicle, a power amplifier and an electroacoustical transducer. The manually operable sound level setting control comprises a dynamic equalization circuit for providing a predetermined equalization over the bass frequency range depending on the sound level setting of the sound level setting control. A variable gain device associated with the sound level setting control responds to an input electrical audio signal to be amplified by the system for providing a signal of controlled amplitude. The variable gain device controls the gain of the system to increase and decrease in response to the engine being on and off respectively. The manually operable sound level setting control changes the frequency response of the system when altering the gain of the system much more significantly than when the variable gain device alters the gain such that the frequency response with the engine being on is always different from the frequency response with the engine being off.
