Abstract: Techniques for implementing a “sticky” user ID are described. A system receives first input audio data and determines first speech processing results therefrom. The system also determines a first user ID of a user that spoke an utterance represented in the first input audio data and associates the first user ID with a device, which originated the first input audio data, for a predetermined length of time. The system determines first output data responsive to the first speech processing data and causes the device to present first output content corresponding thereto. The system then receives second input audio data and determines second speech processing results therefrom. The system also determines a time of receipt of the second input audio data is within the predetermined length of time. Based at least in part thereon, the system determined second output data responsive to the second speech processing data using the first user ID. The system then causes the device to present second output content corresponding to the second output data.

The system determines one or more policies associated with the device. The one or more policies may correspond to rules for disambiguating which profile to use to execute with respect to the user input. Using the one or more policies, the system determines which profile is to be used, and causes a speechlet component to execute using information specific to the determined profile.

Abstract: Techniques for implementing a “volatile” user ID are described. A system receives first input audio data and determines first speech processing results therefrom. The system also determines a first user that spoke an utterance represented in the first input audio data. The system establishes a multi-turn dialog session with a first content source and receives first output data from the first content source based on the first speech processing results and the first user. The system causes a device to present first output content associated with the first output data. The system then receives second input audio data and determines second speech processing results therefrom. The system also determines the second input audio data corresponds to the same multi-turn dialog session. The system determines a second user that spoke an utterance represented in the second input audio data and receives second output data from the first content source based on the second speech processing results and the second user. The system causes the device to present second output content associated with the second output data.

Abstract: Described are techniques for tracking associations between known keys and internal keys related to user data received at a natural language processing system and shared with target systems. The system can receive a request to delete data associated with a user or device, and determine one or more known keys related to the request. The system can retrieve previously stored associations between known keys and internal keys, and use the associations to generate a delete command containing relevant internal keys to be sent to the target systems, which in turn can delete data associated with the internal keys.
