    摘要: In one embodiment, the present invention relates to amine-functionalized polyisobutylenes. Methods for preparing the amine-functionalized polyisobutylenes are also described. Furthermore, the invention relates to microemulsion coating compositions comprising the amine-functionalized polyisobutylenes which can be applied to various surfaces, especially metallic vehicle surfaces, wherein the compositions form a protective barrier on the surface and improve the drying rate, protection and shine of the surface. The coating compositions have a long service life and withstand numerous washing cycles. Moreover, the coating compositions when applied to surfaces, hydrophobize the same and allow for easy removal of water by increasing the contact angle of water droplets and thus reducing the “footprint” thereof.

    摘要: A treadleplate for use in an automatic carwash system for regulating the length of time a cleaning solution is sprayed on the tires of a passing vehicle in direct relationship to the size of the vehicle tire. A horizontal base plate is mounted on the carwash floor in the path of one of the vehicle tires. A contact plate is pivotally mounted on the base plate and is movable from a normal inclined, at-rest position to a horizontal depressed position when rolled over by the vehicle tire. The contact plate is formed with a stepped outer swinging edge which provides a series of transversely spaced contact zones of varying tire contact length. These zones are adapted to be selectively engaged by one of the tires of a vehicle moving through the carwash which depresses the contact plate and actuates a cleaning solution control valve. The particular zone which is engaged by the tire is in direct relationship to the transverse spacing or track of the particular vehicle moving through the carwash. The cleaning solution control valve is open for the exact amount of time required to properly clean the particular size tire of the passing vehicle. This valve actuation time is in direct relationship to the amount of time required for the vehicle tire to pass over the selected contact zone, which in turn in is a direct relationship to the vehicle track and tire size.

    摘要: A spray device having a plurality of rotating nozzles directs narrow streams of a high pressure fluid in a circular pattern against a vehicle being cleaned in a car wash installation. A conduit for supplying the high pressure fluid to the nozzles is rotatably mounted within a lower generally watertight housing. A front end of the fluid supply conduit extends outwardly of the housing, and a rear end of the conduit is connected to a source of the high pressure fluid by a rotary union. The nozzles are mounted on the ends of T-shaped fluid suppy tubes which extend radially outwardly from the extended front end of the supply pipe. A motor is mounted within a generally waterproof upper housing which is mounted on the lower housing and is generally isolated therefrom. The supply conduit is rotated by the motor which is connected thereto by an endless drive belt which extends through a small opening which provides communication between the two housings. Mounting of the motor in the upper housing shields the motor from the high pressure spray fluid and possible fluid leaks, yet allows heat from the motor to be dissipated by the housing walls into the ambient air to prevent overheating of the motor.

    摘要: Equipment for automatically washing a vehicle as it is being moved by a conveyor through a treatment area. A horizontal spray bar is movably mounted on the vertical legs of an inverted U-shaped frame for vertical movement along the frame to maintain a generally constant spacing from the vehicle surface as it is being moved beneath the spray bar by the conveyor. The spray bar frame is pivotally mounted on a main stationary support frame to enable the spray bar to pivot out of the path of a moving vehicle in the event of malfunction of the spray bar raising mechanism. A sensing station having a plurality of vertical spaced sensors is located at the entrance to the treatment area and directs a plurality of horizontal sensing beams across the path of the vehicle. The beams are broken and closed in relationship to the profile of the moving vehicle and send signals to a programmable controller. The controller also receives signals from the conveyor representing the linear horizontal movement of the vehicle caused by movement of the conveyor. The combination of the signals from the conveyor and sensors is correlated by the controller which supplies signals to the spray bar drive motor to control the vertical movement and speed of the spray bar to maintain the predetermined maximum efficient spacing of the spray bar from the vehicle surface. Signals are also sent by the controller to a second motor which rotates the spray bar so that the spray nozzles are maintained generally perpendicular to the vehicle surface in addition to the desired spacing to obtain the maximum cleaning results.
