    摘要: An ultrasonic 2D array has elements extending in two dimensions which can be individually controlled and operated to form a 2D array for scanning a volumetric region in three dimensions. Individual ones of the elements can also be selected and operated together to form a 1D array for scanning a planar region in two dimensions. The array transmits scanlines to scan the volumetric region and the planar region in a time interleaved manner with the frame rate of the planar region be higher than that of the volumetric region. A spectral display may also be produced of a sample volume located in the planar region.

    摘要: A 3-D ultrasound imaging system acquires partially complete image volumes interspersed with substantially complete image volumes. The partially complete image volumes contain speckle that is processed by a cross-correlation algorithm to track the movement of an ultrasound scanhead. By tracking the movement of the scanhead, the substantially complete image volumes can be properly registered with each other and combined to create a 3-D extended field of view image. The partially complete image volumes contain significantly less data than the substantially complete image volumes. Therefore, the partially complete image volumes can be acquired more quickly than the substantially complete image volumes to allow the scanhead to be scanned at a relatively fast speed.

    摘要: An ultrasonic probe for three dimensional scanning includes a one dimensional array transducer which is mechanically swept back and forth. As the array transducer is swept in one direction the array scans the volumetric region with image planes which are scanned from left to right. As the array transducer is swept in the opposite direction the direction of beam scanning is reverse so that the volumetric region is scanned with image planes which are scanned from right to left. The reversal of the beam scanning direction causes the scanned planes to be substantially aligned, resulting in a reduction in scanning artifacts.
