    摘要: Method for paging a MS in a mixed deployment of femto paging areas and macro paging areas in the network is provided. The presence information of the MS is tracked using at least two paging areas when the MS is in a first zone, wherein the first zone is overlapped by a femto paging area and a first macro paging area and the MS is subscribed to a set of CSG femto cells that are allowed for the MS in the femto paging area. The two paging areas are the femto paging area and the first macro paging area. The presence information of the MS is received by the network when the MS moves from the first zone to a second zone, wherein the second zone is overlapped by the femto paging area and a second macro paging area. The network, based on the received presence information, pages the MS only in a subset of the CSG femto cells that are allowed for the MS in the second zone.

    摘要: A method and system for managing paging for a communication device in a paging area is provided. The method at a second base station includes receiving information associated with a movement of the communication device from a first cell region associated with a first base station to a second cell region associated with the second base station in the paging area. The first base station and the second base station are of different cell types. The method then informs a paging controller about the movement of the communication device along with information associated with the communication device when at least one of the first base station and the second base station is a femtocell. The paging controller on receiving a page for the communication device identifies presence of the communication device in a femtocell and manages paging of the communication device in one or more femtocells in the paging area.

    摘要: A method and a Mobile Station (MS), for use in a wireless communication network comprising a plurality of Base Stations (BSs) capable of communicating with a plurality of MSs, wherein at least some of the BSs are Femtocell BSs (FBSs) and at least some of the BSs are Macrocell BSs (MBSs), for identifying the BSs at the MS, are provided. The method includes receiving at least one of a globally unique BS ID and an Operator ID from an FBS via a Broadcast CHannel (BCH), deriving a Closed Subscriber Group IDentifier (CSG ID) from the received at least one of the globally unique BS ID and the Operator ID, and determining, based on the derived CSG ID, if the FBS is a CSG FBS to which the MS is subscribed.
