Abstract: A computer system displays a representation of a field of view of the one or more cameras, including a representation of a portion of a three-dimensional physical environment that is in the field of view of the one or more cameras. The computer system receives a request to add a first virtual effect to the displayed representation of the field of view of the one or more cameras. In response to receiving the request to add the first virtual effect to the displayed representation of the field of view of the one or more cameras and in accordance with a determination that the first virtual effect requires a scan of the physical environment, the computer system initiates a scan of the physical environment to detect one or more features of the physical environment and displays a user interface that indicates a progress of the scan of the physical environment.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for a media editing application that creates a composite presentation from several different media clips. The method provides a set of editing tools for editing the composite presentation. The method provides a voice-over tool for receiving text for a voice-over that includes a transcript for a voice-over audio clip to be recorded by the media editing application as a clip of the composite presentation. The method provides a display area for scrolling the text when recording the voice-over audio clip. The display area in some embodiments is a preview display area that scrolls the text while displaying a preview of the composite presentation when recording the voice-over audio clip.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for displaying content. The method provides a first display area for displaying content and receiving modifications to the content. The method provides a second display area for displaying a preview of the content. In some embodiments, a modification to the content automatically causes a corresponding modification to the preview. In some embodiments, the size of the content is larger than the size of the first display area and the first display area only displays a portion of the content. In some such embodiments, the second display area displays the entirety of the preview of the entire content at once. Some embodiments also provide a window in the second display area that indicates in the preview the portion of the content concurrently displayed in the first display area.
