Abstract: A device may have a multi-camera system including one or more camera modules. At least one camera module may include one or more lenses, an image sensor, and a chassis structure. The camera module may include a bearing structure including one or more stages moving on a plurality of rolling elements to allow the lenses and/or the image sensor to move in one or more directions. The chassis structure may form a limit for a span distance or length of a group of rolling elements. A portion of the chassis structure may include an opening to provide extra space to allow the span distance or length of the group of rolling elements to be extended, so as to reduce effects of raceway indentations on the rolling elements to the camera module performance.

Abstract: Various embodiments include a camera with a ball bearing suspension arrangement that suspends one or more tiltable structures. In some embodiments, the camera may include an optical element, an image sensor, an actuator arrangement, and the ball bearing suspension arrangement. The actuator arrangement may include a tilt actuator configured to tilt one or more tiltable structures about a tilt axis. The ball bearing arrangement may suspend the tiltable structure(s) from a base structure and allow motion of the tiltable structure(s) enabled by the tilt actuator. In various embodiments, the ball bearing suspension arrangement may include a ball bearing that is positioned at a different height, along the tilt axis, than one or more other ball bearings of the ball bearing suspension arrangement.

Abstract: Various embodiments include a camera system having an actuator arrangement for rotating a lens group together with an image sensor to provide optical image stabilization (OIS). For example, the actuator arrangement may be used to rotate the lens group and the image sensor, as a pair, about multiple axes orthogonal to an optical axis of the camera system, to implement OIS. According to various embodiments, the actuator arrangement may also be configured to move the lens group or the image sensor to provide autofocus (AF). For example, the actuator arrangement may be used to move the lens group or the image sensor in at least one direction parallel to the optical axis, to implement AF. Furthermore, the camera system may include a suspension arrangement configured to suspend the lens group and the image sensor and to allow motion enabled by the actuator arrangement.

Abstract: A camera may include an image sensor attached with a substrate configured to move relative to one or more lenses of the camera in one or more directions. The camera may include one or more actuators to control movement of the image sensor, which may include at least one magnet and at least one corresponding coil. The magnet of the actuators may be attached with the substrate, outside a perimeter of the substrate or on the substrate but close to the perimeter of the substrate. The magnet may cause the adjacent portion of the substrate to become cantilevered with only partial support. The camera may include a frame structure having one or more raised regions towards the magnet to reduce a stress on the cantilevered portion of the substrate, e.g., during a drop or shock event.
