Abstract: A battery cell includes a first cathode having a first active material composition, a second cathode having a second active material composition different than the first active material composition, and an anode disposed between the first cathode and the second cathode. The first active material composition may include, for example, lithium iron phosphate (LFP) or lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP), and the second active material composition may include, for example, lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC).
