Abstract: Improved acoustic devices include water-resistant venting across various surfaces inside acoustic devices such as speakers and microphones. Surfaces such as an acoustic diaphragm, a cover for a resonant chamber, and a cover for an external port of an acoustic transducer may include design features that create or enhance gas-permeable and water impermeable attributes. Such design features include, for example, a series of apertures in the vented surface.
