    摘要： An inkjet recording device of the present invention includes an inkjet recording head, a first wiper, a first movement component and a control component. The inkjet recording head ejects ink droplets from a plurality of nozzles formed in a nozzle face. The first wiper abuts against the nozzle face and wipes the nozzle face. The first movement component relatively moves the first wiper, with respect to the nozzle face, along the nozzle face. The control component controls ejection of ink droplets from the nozzles and controls the first movement component. The control component moves the first wiper relative to the nozzle face while the control component causes ink droplets to be ejected from the nozzles at least toward the first wiper, causing the nozzle face to be wiped.

    摘要： An airtight elastic cap of an ink-jet recording head and a storage container employing the airtight elastic cap provide high airtightness between a nozzle face and the airtight cap and minimizes ink leak from the recording head even when the head is mounted or dismounted, or when a storage environment changes suddenly. The airtight elastic cap includes a body and an inside wall provided inside thereof. A portion of the wall defines a first space and another portion defines a second space positioned continuously to a center of the first space. The storage container includes a container body that houses the ink-jet recording head and the airtight elastic cap, placed within the container body, that abuts against and protects an ink emission face of the ink-jet recording head while the ink-jet recording is housed.

    摘要： An ink jet printer is disclosed which, only when ink is to be supplied, supplies ink from a main tank disposed outside a carriage and which can effect the supply of ink stably without the leakage of ink. When it is detected by an ink level sensor that the ink level in a second ink chamber of an ink tank has become lower than a predetermined position, pipes in ports are inserted respectively into slit valves provided in the second ink chamber. Then, by operating a pump, the air present in the second ink chamber is discharged by suction to increase a negative pressure in the second ink chamber, allowing ink to be supplied from a main tank into the second ink chamber. Thus, since the supply of ink is performed by a negative pressure, it is possible to prevent the leakage of ink from the portion where the pipe is inserted into the slit valve.
