    摘要： An image forming apparatus comprising: a document reading section that can read an image of a document; a document-type determining section that can extract, when the image includes a finishing mark or a characteristic form, the finishing mark or the characteristic form as a characteristic portion from the readout document image, and can determine, based on the extracted characteristic portion, a type of the finishing or a type of the document; a processing deciding section that decides, based on the determined type of the finishing or the determined type of the document, a type of finishing to be performed to a medium to be output or a type of image processing to be performed to an image to be output; and a processor that performs finishing of the type decided by the processing deciding section to the medium to be output or image processing of the type decided by the processing deciding section to the image to be output.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus allowing a user to easily access an operating section even in a large-size apparatus can be provided. An image forming apparatus 100 includes a main machine 110 including an operating section 113 and capable of functioning as a multifunction machine by itself, and at least one option machine 120 to 190 added to a side-face side of an enclosure 111 of the main machine. The apparatus 100 includes the operating section 113 at a fixed position in the width direction of the enclosure. The enclosure has a unified first color of a same tone at a front face thereof, and an operating position line 101 is formed at a part of the front face of the enclosure and has a second color that is clearly different from the first color so as to be a guide indicating a position of the operating section 113.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus includes a scanner section, an image forming section, and a functional unit. The scanner section is configured to read image information by scanning an image bearing side of a document sheet. The image forming section is located above or below the scanner section with a space section provided therebetween and is configured to perform image formation processing on a recording medium based on the image information read. The space section has at least one open vertical side. The functional unit is removably fitted into the space section through the open side.
