摘要: Systems and methods are described for facilitating non-verbal communication. An electronic processor receives data from the hand-gesture sensor indicative of one or more gestures performed by a user, determines at least one word or phrase corresponding to the data from the hand-gestures sensor, and outputs a text representation of the at least one word or phrase on the display screen. Some systems output the text representation as a natural language sentence based on the data from the hand-gesture sensor and linguistic prosody information determined based, at least in part, on image data of the user captured while performing the one or more gesture. Some systems also includes at least one brain sensor and generate an alternative natural language text sentence in response to detecting a signal from the brain sensor indicative of a contradiction response after displaying the natural language text sentence on the display screen.

摘要: Safety certification of cyber-physical system (CPS) such as autonomous cars or medical control systems are complicated especially due to the lack of transparency between the manufacturer and certifying authority. The manufacturer has significant restrictions in sharing knowledge with the certification authority. Further, given time constraints, it may not be feasible for the certification authority to examine internal details of the CPS. A system models the safety certification of CPS as an agile iterative game, where a manufacturer agent acting on behalf of the manufacturer and a certifier agent acting on behalf of a third-party certification entity aims to find an optimal subset of operating data to share for accurate safety certification. The certification agent, armed with CPS model mining methods and safety assessment analysis tools, aims to accurately assess safety of the CPS with the information shared.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for encoding and decoding data (such as, for example, an encryption key) using a physiological signal. A data item string is separated into a defined number of component segments and each component segment is used as a coefficient of a polynomial equation. A plurality of signal features are then identified from a physiological signal and a plurality of ordered pairs are created based on the plurality of identified signal features using the polynomial equation. A data package including the plurality of ordered pairs and obfuscated by a plurality of chaff points is transmitted to another system. The receiver system uses a corresponding physiological signal to filter out the chaff points and to reconstruct the polynomial equation, for example, by LaGrangian interpolation. The coefficients of the reconstructed polynomial equation are then used to derive the encoded data item string.

A rule based knowledge extraction methodology is disclosed, guided by expert knowledge for all scientifically relevant geological landforms with respect to expert selected attributes. The datasets are subsequently prioritized based on how novel the instances are with respect to its rule and is used to update the rules. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is then determined by evaluating how acceptable the prioritization order is to experts and explaining the decisions to increase the interpretability of the assigned priority.
