Abstract: A laser system comprising a double clad or multiple clad fiber laser and methods of use are provided. The fiber laser may include a liquid cladding layer, which may be used to facilitate heat exchange. The liquid may be contained in a jacket and may be pumped out of the jacket as part of the heat exchange process. The liquid cladding layer may be used as a wave guide or an anti-wave guide.
