摘要： The sheet feeding mechanism for a small offset duplicating machine has a sheet engaging element axially adjustable on a continuously rotating drive shaft. The engaging part of the element has an exposed face arcuately convex about the axis of rotation and two terminal sections offset from the exposed face in opposite circumferential directions. Two carrier parts of the element respectively connect the terminal sections to the shaft. One of the two carrier parts is sufficiently resilient to permit some radial movement of the associated terminal section under the deforming pressure of a sheet engaged by the exposed face, while the other carrier part is rigid enough to prevent circumferential movement of the entire face.

摘要： All normal operating controls of a small offset printing press or office duplicator are combined in a single control shaft connected by cams and cam follower trains to the several operating elements of the press and carrying a single control knob in such a manner that the machine is started and operated by turning the knob stepwise in one direction through less than one turn, and is shut down by returning the knob in the opposite direction to its starting position. A shortened cycle is available.

摘要： The washing roller of an offset printing machine is moved into circumferential engagement with the rotating blanket cylinder of the machine when the latter is to be washed, and a gear on the washing roller is thereby engaged with a gear rotated about a fixed axis on the machine frame for rotating the engaged portions of the roller and of the cylinder in opposite directions while they are also oscillated axially relative to each other and supplied with washing liquid.

摘要： The water tray in the dampening unit of an offset printing machine is divided by a normally upright partition into two compartments which communicate through a low aperture in the partition near the bottom wall of the tray. One compartment is upwardly sealed by a cover projecting beyond the partition to cover a portion of the other compartment which normally receives a fountain roller. The tray is releasably supported on a bracket which may be pivoted on the machine frame to drive the dampening fluid into the covered compartment when the machine is shut down.

摘要： The rate of ink supply in an offset printing machine having an ink fountain roller operated by a pawl and ratchet is controlled by a deflector cam acting on the pawl to vary its effective stroke, and by a manually operated control disc which adjusts the position of the cam. A transfer roller in the roller train of the dampening mechanism is rocked toward and away from simultaneous engagement with a water fountain roller and a distributing roller, and its dwell time in the engaged position is controlled by an adjustable linkage manually set by another control disc. A control bar simultaneously stops the ink and water supplies by interrupting the drive train of the pawl and by keeping the transfer roller out of the engaged position.
